MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL.

Twenty-nine members present.

Election of President and Vice-President.

The Council elected Mr. John J. Duggan

to be President of the Society, and Mr. Louis

E. O'Dea and Mr. Scan 0 hUadhaigh to be

Vice-Presidents for the ensuing twelve months.

17th December.

Twenty-two members present.

The late Chief Justice.

A resolution was passed expressing the

deep regret of the Council on the death of

the Hon. Hugh Kennedy, Chief Justice of the

Irish Free State, and conveying to Mrs.

Kennedy the sympathy of the Council in her

bereavement.

Extra-ordinary Members.

The names of the following were submitted

as those to act as Extra-ordinary Members

of Council for the ensuing twelve months :

of Northern

Ireland J. W. Pinkerton (President), W. C.

Gage, G. Murnaghan, J. C. Taylor, and

J. G. H. Wilson. Southern Law Associa–

tion J. J. Mooney

(President), T. A.

Buckley, J. F. Foley, J. J. Horgan, and

B. O'Meara. The ten whose names were

submitted were elected.

THE INCORPORATED LAW SOCIETY OF

NORTHERN IRELAND.

Mr. John W. Pinkerton, Ballymoney, has

been elected President of the Society for

1936-37.

THE SOUTHERN LAW ASSOCIATION.

Mr. James J. Mooney, 48 South Mall, Cork,

has been elected President of the Association

for 1936-37.

OBITUARY

MR. FLORENCE O'SULLIVAN, Solicitor, died

on the 5th December, 1936, at his residence,

76 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin.

Mr. O'Sullivan was admitted in Hilary

Sittings, 1893, and practised formerly at

Kinsale, County Cork,

and

latterly at

76 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin.

MR. FRANCIS J. MCENTEE, Solicitor, died

on the 7th December, 1936, in London.

Mr. McEntee served his apprenticeship

with Mr. Patrick J. Brady, Dublin ;

was

admitted

in Hilary Sittings,

1930,

and

practised at 17 D'Olier Street, Dublin.

MR. THOMAS RICHARDSON, Solicitor, died

on the 13th December, 1936, at " Dallas,"

Malone Road, Belfast.
