Bacchus/SADD

B

acchus (Boost Alcohol Consciousness

Concerning the Health of University

Students) is a national collegiate alcohol

education group. Bacchus members work hard

sponsoring events such as Alcohol Awareness

Week which encourages students to Be R.A.D.

(Responsible About Drinking), and advances

the idea that everyone has the choice

to

drink

or not to drink. Bacchus hopes to maintain a

high level of awareness concerning drugs and

alcohol at USO.

Jocelyn Baker,

the Presi–

dent of Bacchus, advocates that "you can have

fun and

be

responsible at the same time."

BETA ALPHA

PSI

B

eta Alpha Psi (BAY) is a national scholastic

and professional accounting fraternity for both

men and women. Its main objective is to en–

courage and give recognition to scholastic and profes–

sional excellence in the field of accounting.

During the fall semester, president

Robin Busing

hosted the Fall Invitational Banquet. Thirteen new

members were initiated at the banquet. With the

strong leadership of BAY under the experienced di–

rection of the faculty, vice-president

Dr.

Diane

Pattison,

this year was very successful.

Firm tours(6), guest speakers, community service

projects, and social events helped make this years

curriculum exciting. With the enthusiastic support of

Dr. Diane Pattison,

and the full support, h4rd–

work, and dedicated of all the members; BAY, 2'.eta

Kappa chapter strives to achieve the honor o("Supe-

rior Chapter."

During the spring semester, ne-.ly elected ·preli·

dent,

Rick Anderson,

presided over the Spring Ini–

tiation Banquet. Fifteen new membe!'$were initiated

at the banquet. The highlight of the spring semester

occurred in late March. The Zeta Kappa chapter was

proud to host the Regional Beta Alpha Psi Confer–

ence. The Conference was attended by over 100 BAY

members from eleven southern California and

Ari–

zona Universities.
