Plate roll
for pressure
vessels
A CUSTOMER in India has chosen a Davi
plate roll to manufacture pressure vessels
and heat exchangers. This particular model
is a variable axis plate roll with a capacity of
10ft x 6ft 1/8" cold rolling.
The customer is among the largest
leading Indian manufacturers in the oil and
gas industry, and the new plate roll will allow
it to increase its manufacturing capabilities.
The preference to use Davi variable
axis plate roll – as described by Orazio
Davi, president of Promau – is due to two
distinct advantages: the motorisation of all
rolls (instead of solely the top roll, as is
typical in the industry), and the capability
of fabricating cones from very thick plate
rolled to small diameters. The latter is
due to the rolls’ independent adjustment
capabilities, and not limited by mechanical
brakes, common in other machines on the
market.
