AIM has introduced a new 3-dimensional machine with extended bending
capabilities: the ‘Synchro Bender’. The most sophisticated 3D CNC wire bending
solution available, featuring a turret tool changer with three satellite mandrel
benders, offers the least forming limitations (Patent pending).
The pre-loaded graphics animation allows for programme/data verification before
even running a single production part. Part of an automation cell, along with a
Fanuc robot, it can provide the best production solutions for today’s challenging
market.
In all instances, wire can be fed directly from a coil, straightened, bent and cut
using a software package that provides flexibility and simplicity in programming.
This comes complete with a 2-plane straightener, 2,000 kg automatic payoff unit,
maintenance-free servo quad-roller feeder, precision bender axes, unlimited arm
(Z-Axis) rotation, industrial PC running Windows® XP Pro and SmartEditor®.

Cometo’s wide
range of devices
Founded in 1983, Cometo has
established itself as one of the most
competitive suppliers in the wire
and cable industry. In the field of
straightening, Cometo offers a wide
range of devices:
ESM110 is a technologically advanced
wire straightener for metal wire
stretching or straightening, equipped
with an automatic rollers position
control system.
The lower row or grooved roller
is fixed, and the upper rollers are
adjustable and can slide on hardened
guides thanks to screws connected to
a gearmotor. The epicyclic gear inlet
shaft is aligned with the outlet one,
that at its turn is aligned with the upper
rollers’ adjusting screw.
The brushless motors assembled on
this model have enough torque for the
mechanical frictions in order to stretch
the wire or straighten it properly.
During the working process the
motors are constantly fed in order
to hold the rollers position without
using brakes. The ESM model
can store up to 100 recipes which
include positioning of each roller, wire
stretching percentage and related
tolerance. This equipment is suitable
especially for cold-rolled ribbed
profiles, having diameters up to 20mm.
In the domain of spring and screw
production, where straightening accu-
racy is needed, Cometo offers a
special straightener, the ASM/ADM,
a sturdy straightener manufactured
with centesimal tolerances, with
quick locking and release device and
adjustable on both rows of rollers to
ensure a proper wire straightening.
A simpler model is the AS/AD,
adjustable only on one row of rollers,
with quick opening system and
available also with CAW rollers with
double bearings circle which can bear
heavy loads.
Suitable especially for wire mesh
production, thanks to the minimum
space necessary for its installation,
another model that is part of Cometo
production range is the D type with
quick scissor-opening system.
