CLASSIFIED TELEPHONE DIRECTORY

Members of the Society have received within the

past month or so a circular issued by Golden Pages

Classified Telephone Directory, Saint Martin's

House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4, offering free

listing in a classified

telephone directory under

various professions and businesses. This

is un

doubtedly a convenience both to solicitors and the

business community and the Council have advised

members that there is no objection to having their

names listed

in ordinary type. The proprietors

offer additional facilities at a charge of £10 per

annum including the insertion of the subscriber's

name in bold type. In the opinion of the Council

members should not have their names listed in

bold type in this directory. The inclusion of cer

tain names in bold type in a classified directory

(as distinct from the ordinary telephone directory)

\vould in the opinion of the Council amount to

advertising and unfair attraction of business, un

less adopted by the whole profession. The needs

of the profession and their clients will be ade

quately served if all members and firms use the

ordinary small type.
