say five years later he would receive benefit as
before for as long as his disability lasted up to
age sixty-five.
Any amount of benefit can be effected under
the scheme subject to certain maximum limita
tions;
the overriding
limitations are
that
the
periodic income under the scheme shall not exceed
75 per cent of the members nett relevant earnings
or £50 per week.
Premiums for disability benefit do not rank for
taxation relief. The full annual contribution to
secure pension benefits may be set off as a deduc
tion for income tax and surtax purposes subject
to certain limits prescribed by the Finance Act,
1958.
Members interested in this scheme should get
in
touch with the consultants who will advise
them on their own particular problems. A staff of
qualified actuaries, technical and administrative
personnel are available to give free advice to any
member on his personal assurance problem. Full
information on premium and benefit rates and
quotations to suit the members individual require
ments can be had free of charge.
