Specialised enamelled wire testing
Specialising in the design and manufacture of laboratory testing equipment for
the determination of mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical features of
enamelled wire, Rigon Instruments has announced the launch of an in-line high
voltage tester of covering continuity and surface control tester suitable for any size
of flat wire.
Rigon believes that magnet wire makers
now have an affordable and reliable way
to monitor both electrical and surface
characteristics of flat wire. The system
can be easily installed in an existing
production line. It is powered by 24v
DC and has a linked microprocessor
controlled high voltage carbon fibre
electrode and ceramic surface detector
for each line, for a maximum of 64 lines.
These are connected to a supervision
computer that can be placed at a
distance of over 1km via an RS 485 serial interface. Additional electrical board
and high voltage cables are not needed, so reducing installation time and cost
simplifying the wiring.
From the supervision computer all test parameters, such as voltage adjustable up
to 3kV and current adjustable from 5μA up to 25μA, lump dimension, pre-alarm and
alarm for each test length and for each spool, can be set. All data and production
results are stored in a powerful database and can be printed out at the end of each
spool in a form or label, according to the customer requirements. Production trend
is monitored in real-time and allows verification of the entire spool on every test
length.

Zumbach Electronic has introduced
an ultra-modern surface inspection
system. The Simac
®
63 is the latest
model available in the Zumbach
family of surface inspection using
state-of-the-art image processing.
Simac 63 is designed to achieve
the best price/performance ratio
for tubes, hoses, cables and
other products made from plastic,
rubber and other materials. Simac
63 is compact, ruggedly built and
cost-effective, with an easy to use
graphical user interface.
The advantages of Simac 63 are
said to include higher customer
satisfaction, as a result of the improved product quality. It is a modular system,
extendible with various options and its PC-based system allows seamless
integration with an existing network.
Producing a bright, focused image Simac 63 sees surface faults down to 100μm
and offers length related scanning and fault definition.
