The
cost
of
wines
is
an
important
factor
in
entertaining.
Many
a
man
is
forced
to
entertain
friends
of
ex-
pensive
tastes
on
the
proverbial
"
champagne
taste
and
beer
income
"
plan.
A
person
who
wishes
for
any
reason
to
economize
may
substitute,
in
almost
every
case,
California
or
other
American
wines,
w^hich
cost
far
less
than
imported.
In
fact,
I
have
known
a
man who
called
him-
self
a
connoisseur
of
wines
to
be
de-
ceived
by
Cook's
Imperial
Extra
Dry
to
such
an
extent
that
he
acknowl-
edged
it
to
be
quite
as
good
as
Mumm's
when
told
the
difference.
Prices
are
given
here
by
the case
of
one
dozen
bottles,
as
in
ordering
wines
for
home
use
most
people
buy
in
dozen
lots.
