LOOK IN THE BOOK FIRST
Because this is an “area wide” directory it
contains more information that covers a greater area
than a typical local telephone directory. By using
this directory, you should be able to find most of
the numbers of friends and neighbors as well as
businesses serving your area. Here are a few other
ways to save:
• Look up numbers in your directory and jot down
frequently called numbers.
• Provide the Directory Assistance Operator with
complete information: full names, accurate
spelling and exact addresses.
• If you need two numbers, ask for both of
them at the same time. Directory Assistance
will usually provide a second number at no
additional charge.
• A new number reference is often provided by
someone who has recently moved. Call the old
number and you can frequently get a recorded
message with the new listing.

OPERATOR ASSISTANCE
Service charges will apply when the Operator
helps you to place a local or long distance call.
To make an Operator-assisted call, please dial “0”
+ the area code (if necessary) + seven digit number.
When the Operator answers, state the type of call you
want to make. For an additional charge, the Operator
will help you to place the following calls:
•
Collect Call.
The person or business you are
calling agrees to pay for the call.
•
International Call.
Though you can usually dial
direct for less money, your Operator will handle
the call or provide information for you.
•
Person-to-Person Call.
The Operator
will complete the call only to the person or
extension you request. If you do not reach
the right person or extension, you will not
be charged.
•
Third Number Billing.
You can arrange to bill
the call to a phone number other than the one
to which or from which you are calling.
•
Time and Charges Call.
Inform the Operator
in advance that you want to know the length
and cost of your call. Please stay on the line
after talking.
If you reach a wrong number, dial “0” immediately
and tell the Operator what happened. You will receive
credit for the toll charges on misdialed calls.
