ISPAM recommendations to harmonize method validation guidelines have been
presented to ISO TC 34, SC 9, WG 3 for incorporation into the Revision of ISO 16140,
Microbiology of food and animal feed -- Method validation -- Part 2: Protocol for the
validation of alternative (proprietary) methods against a reference method. In’t Veld will
present an update on the work of the WG 3 as it relates to ISPAM harmonization efforts.

Standard Method Performance Requirements (SMPRs) for the Detection of Salmonella
in Leafy Greens* –
Erin Crowley, Q Laboratories, Inc. & WG Chair
Erin Crowley will provide an overview of the SMPR for the detection of
Salmonella
in leafy
greens (head lettuce and baby greens) developed by the WG, including public comments
received. The attendees will discuss and recommend any additional changes. If resolution of
comments/changes is reached, the SMPR will then be brought to vote by voting Stakeholder
Panelists.
