FOR more than 30 years 3R software
solutions has been one of the premier
developers of software applications for the
tube and pipe industry. Its reference list
includes a number of high profile companies
from the marine and offshore industry,
automotive and aviation companies, as
well as world leaders in the fields of plant
construction and chemical engineering.
Applications developed by 3R software
solutions include:
• RoniIsoBuilder, a CAD program
specifically designed for the tube and pipe
industry, is capable of breaking down larger
drawings into logical spools for fabrication,
and of automatically generating all
relevant part lists, fabrication lists, welding
documentation and customised worksheets
for these spools. RoniIsoBuilder offers
import interfaces to a wide range of third-
party systems, so it can be integrated into
existing IT structures, to support rather than
replace them.
• RAMP, a workshop control system,
which is used to compile work packages and
assign work orders for the entire workshop,
making optimal use of capacities and
resources. In combinationwithRoniIsoBuilder
it creates direct two-way communication
between engineering/construction and the
workshop itself, allowing real-time status
monitoring, fabrication balancing, cutting
optimisation and fabrication time calculations.
• RoniKolli7, a bending simulation
program used by companies all over the
world to test their tube geometries for
collision and interference. Using 3D models
of the actual machines and tools in the
customer’s workshop, RoniKolli7 is fast,
accurate and easy to use. In case of collision
the software automatically searches for
alternative bending sequences, based on
the capabilities of the machine. RoniKolli7
also compensates material factors, such
as springback, stretching and traction
reductions, making it a versatile tool for any
tube shop.
In addition to IT products, 3R software
solutions also offers workshop consulting
services, advising shop owners on how to
best optimise and automate their workshops.
Each solution is based on an in-depth
analysis of the customer’s tube shop, taking
all requirements and specifications into
account. Thus each customer is provided
with a unique proposal and layout, meeting
all of his needs, rather than a generic
standardised product.
At FABTECH 3R software solutions can
be found at booth no 418, where they
will demonstrate how their applications
and services can be used to facilitate
construction, streamline fabrication
workflows, and significantly increase overall
workshop efficiency.

AMBRELL, a manufacturer of induction
heating systems, will exhibit at FABTECH
2011, 14-17 November at McCormick Place
in Chicago. Representatives will discuss the
latest induction heating trends – a method of
heating electrically-conductive materials.
Ambrell’s wide array of induction
heating solutions will be highlighted – from
the small, versatile EASYHEAT systems
to the powerful EKOHEAT systems. The
EKOHEAT line was recently expanded
and more powerful heat systems were
introduced. With full scale output power
ranging from 1.2kW to 250kW and
frequencies ranging 1kHz to 400kHz,
Ambrell has a solution for a vast range of
applications.
There are many benefits to induction
heating when compared to other traditional
heating methods, including repeatability,
energy savings, speed, and clean, flameless
heating. Ambrell’s heating systems are
CE-marked and ISO 9001:2008 certified.
Whether an organisation needs to braze
small tube fittings or large pipes, a solution
is likely available. Free testing in Ambrell’s
Applications Lab is available to ensure
clients get systems that meet the unique
needs of their applications.
“We’re looking forward to FABTECH
2011,” says Ambrell vice-president of sales
Tom Dickerson. “We’ve been able to help
numerous companies in the tube and pipe
industry enjoy the benefits of induction
heating, and we’re looking forward to
meeting with additional organisations and
showing them how they can also benefit.
We’re particularly excited to discuss our
latest, even more powerful EKOHEAT
systems.”
Since 1986, Ambrell has been a
leading manufacturer of induction heating
systems. Products are manufactured in an
ISO9001:2008 certified facility to ensure the
highest quality equipment, and solutions are
implemented around the world. Ambrell has
more than 10,000 solution implementations
in over 50 countries. With a focus on
superior solutions and service with prompt
response, prospective customers can
leverage its application lab to ensure
systems are built to their specifications, and
then rely on superior support throughout
their relationship with Ambrell.

FONTIJNE Grotnes has developed an
uncommon approach to metalforming as
an alternative to conventional techniques
and practices for forming or sizing hollow
geometric shapes. There are two key factors
to this approach: the use of hollow cylindrical
blanks and the subsequent forming
processes to shape the blanks.
Expanders, shrinkers and rollformers
are a valuable contribution to diverse
production processes, which require tight
tolerances. Fontijne Grotnes Expanders
size and/or form a wide range of hollow
components having a continuous cross-
section, such as cylinders, cones, squares
and polysided shapes. Fontijne Grotnes
expanders, shrinkers and rollformers are
widely used to form finely detailed profiles
in cylindrical or conical shaped blanks
