Shaw River Manganese, listed on the
ASX, reports that Otjozondu Mining (Pty)
Ltd (OM), its wholly owned subsidiary,
has installed a new 100 t/h jig plant at its
Otjozondu (Otjo) manganese project in
Namibia.
The company said in a recent statement
that plant commissioning and material
trials had commenced and that it was
expected to take up to four weeks to com-
plete trials and optimise programming for
various ore types and grade profiles.
Observations from the first trials
indicate beneficiation on the jig beds
is extremely efficient and both product
grade and yield exceeded expectations.
Trial mining at the three Labusrus pits
to a depth of 5 m as planned has been
completed and the material intended for
beneficiation through the new plant has
been stockpiled. It is estimated that stocks
at this point total approximately 80 000
tonnes.

of high grade (approximately 48 %) man-
ganese since the 1950s.
