New heavy-duty wire
straightener
Electron Beam Technologies Inc has launched
a new, larger Straight ‘N Easy® heavy-duty wire
straightener, A-2251. This model features a
modular design with several mounting options
– face, end and traditional. The unit has three
adaptions – in-line, feeder mount, and pay off for
quick connect.
It will accept a variety of electrodes from 5/64"
(2mm) to 3/16" (4.8mm). The unit is lightweight
and expandable, quick to install and has a longer
life compared to friction systems.
User cost is reduced with electrode wandering, and
the unit provides repeatability in automated systems.
It can recast electrodes for proper energy transfer.
The Straight ‘N Easy® heavy-duty wire straightener
is also resettable with built-in reference scales for
ease of wire changes.

PWM’s
British-made
cold
pressure
welding machines offer wire and cable
manufacturers a simple, cost-effective
method of bonding non-ferrous wire,
strip and profile without heat, flux or
fillers.
PWM, which specialises in the design,
manufacture and supply of cold welding
equipment, produces a comprehensive
range of high performance machines,
including four portable cold welders.
Mounted on specially designed trolleys,
these versatile machines can be wheeled
easily to the work area, reducing
downtime and saving effort.
PWM produces three powered models
and one manually operated version, all
precision engineered to produce strong
and consistent welds stronger than the
parent material.
The HP100 and HP200 provide a fast,
effortless method of joining wire and
strip in the range 1mm to 6.5mm.
Powered by air/hydraulic intensifiers,
these machines have steel welding heads
for extra strength and stability.
The pneumatically powered P101 for
welding copper/aluminium wire and
strip 1mm to 5mm is mounted on a
sloping trolley which provides the
operator with a clear view of the weld
area.
PWM’s manually operated M101 cold
welder is one of its best-selling machines.
Robust, reliable and simple to operate,
the M101 will weld copper wire and strip
1mm to 3.6mm and EC aluminium 1mm
to 5mm.
This low-maintenance machine can also
be used on a workbench.
The full PWM range also includes small
hand-held manual cold welders for
joining fine wire from 0.1mm, larger
manual models for use on a workbench,
and large free-standing rod welders
capable of bonding rod 30mm in
diameter.
PWM dies are made in industry standard
or custom sizes to suit round or profile
rod and wire.
As with PWM’s cold welding machines,
the company’s own skilled engineers and
technicians produce all the dies in-house
to ensure total accuracy.
After
30
years
as
a
specialist
manufacturer of cold-weld equipment,
PWM’s UK-based specialist team has a
wealth of knowledge to offer wire and
cable manufacturers about cold welding
techniques and applications.
The company’s worldwide network of
experienced agents, together with the UK
team, provides an efficient back-up service
and technical support for PWM products.
