industry. It also provides a three-day
intensive class on the fundamentals of
cold forging. Nagform is a unique program
for determining the forming sequence
for cold or hot forged and sheet metal
formed parts. It utilises forming rules and
design logic to create alternative ways of
forming a part. Reusable templates can
be created for part families such as hex
bolts, rivets and spark plugs. All the results
can be exported into various 2D/3D CAD
programs.
Nagsim.2D and 3D are FEA forging
simulation programs for simulating cold,
warm and hot forging processes.
These programs predict the metal ow,
formation of laps, under- ll conditions,
elastic stress in the tools, load stroke
curve, grain ow, etc. The latest versions
of Nagform and Nagsim include many
advanced features that allow the user
to design and validate forming of complex
parts.
Recently developed products include:
•
Nagform
Lite
is a lower-cost version
of the Nagform program. It has the
full modelling capability of Nagform
with the ability to create progression
designs manually. The program output
includes part volume, surface area,
forming strains, forming load, pressure
calculations and 2D/3D CAD drawings.
Templates of most IFI standard parts,
SolidWorks/STEP interface and tooling
component library are also available.
•
Nagform
Sheet
is a knowledge-based soft-
ware program for designing forming
sequences of sheet metal parts. It is
also available as a stand-alone program
for sheet metal parts or as an add-on
module to the Nagform program. Doing
this allows comparative studies of
parts that can be alternatively formed
by cold forging, as well as sheet metal
forming processes.
•
Nagsim.2D is a bimetal version of the
Nagsim.2D FEA simulation program
that simulates forming of two
deformable materials.

Established in 1989, Metalube is a
UK-based manufacturer of specialist
industrial lubricants, exporting to over 80
countries worldwide. From its Manchester
headquarters the company has a fully
integrated lubricant manufacturing facility
including new laboratories.
The business was built around the
production of lubricants for drawing
non-ferrous wire and tube products
and these still remain a key part of the
portfolio. However, today Metalube also
o ers a range of lubricants for metal
process and protection.
These include protective greases for
overhead line conductors, metal forming
uids, rust preventatives, wire rope lubri-
cants and chain oils, as well as a range of
maintenance lubricants.
Although based in the UK, the company
exports 95 per cent of its production
worldwide, with sales o ces located in
Mumbai in India, Shanghai and Dong
Guang in China, São Paolo in Brazil, and
Dubai in the UAE.
