Oyster Cocktail.

Into a large mixing glass put a few

small chips of ice and

six to eight small fresh oysters

one toddyspoonful lemon juice

one toddyspoonful Worcestershire

sauce

one measure oyster juice

one-half measure tomato catsup;

sprinkle with a little paprika and stir

until the ice is dissolved. These pro

portions may be varied to suit indi

vidual tastes, but will be found satis

factory to most palates, as too much

pungency is not favored. Heinz' Man-

dalay sauce may be substituted for the

Worcestershire, or a little white wine

may be added. Serve in a low punch

glass and not in a long-stemmed glass,

as some oyster houses do.

A well-made oyster cocktail is an ex

cellent appetizer and should be served
