INDEXAs part of its expansion into the Russian
market, Prysmian Group has opened its
new medium and high voltage cable
production facility in Rybinsk, in the Russian
Yaroslavl region.
The Rybinsk plant, which also produces
cables for the oil and gas industry, fire
performance (LSZH) cables and auto
wires, will shortly supply the full range of
applications in the energy cable business,
including medium voltage cables up to
35kV and high voltage cables up to 330kV
with 2,500mm
2
maximum cross-section and
cross-linked polyethylene insulation.
The new production area extends across
120,000m
2
, and will add 10,000 tonnes of
annual production capacity. The Yaroslavl
region will become Russia’s main area for
cable and wire production, with the total
production capacity of the region’s cable
manufacturers meeting 20 percent of
Russia’s energy cable demand.
New facility starts
production
French company Delfingen Industry has
acquired the Pune, India-based Kartar
Wire Industries Pvt Ltd.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen
Delfingen’s position in automotive
wiring harness protection solutions, while
supporting its local and international
customer base in the growing Indian
market.
Kartar Wire Industries was established
in 1981 as a manufacturer of PVC
profiles, beadings and corrugated tubes,
including profiles and sleeves used to
protect electrical wiring harnesses. The
company’s manufacturing plants are
located in Pune and Gandhinagar and
its products are supplied solely to the
domestic automotive industry.
