TOP GUSSET

Press the long side of each 2 ½” x 12”

piece of fabric in half. Pin closed zipper under folded

edges. Stitch each side of the zipper using an

adjustable zipper foot.

SHOULDER STRAP

Fuse interfacing to wrong side

of shoulder strap fabric following the manufacturer’s

instructions. Press under 1” on the long side. Press

the remaining fabric over the pressed length as shown.

Working from the underside of the strap, zigzag stitch

over the open edge. Repeat on the opposite side of the

shoulder strap.

Pin the underside of the shoulder strap to the right

side of one short end of the gusset top. Baste. Repeat

on the other short end of the gusset.

½ yd. fabric

½ yd. heavyweight fusible interfacing

¼ yd. fusible web

12” zipper

Matching thread

Two safety eyes or buttons

Small pieces of fabric for applique and contrast

Cut the purse, ears and nose from pattern pieces.

You will also need the following:

1- 3” x 36” – Shoulder strap option

2- 3” x 14” – Handle option
