guideline recommended treatment of choice for painful
vertebral metastases

Lack of any response in 1 / 3 of the patients
Incomplete pain reponse in 2 / 3 of the patients
Limited palliative effect after 3 – 6 months
Limited efficacy in mass-like metastases
