The range of wet drawing machines from Team Meccanica
has submerged cones with horizontal axis, thought
particularly suitable for drawing steel wires with low or high
carbon content, alloy and stainless steel, galvanized steel,
brass-coated steel, copper-coated steel for CO

welding
wire and for staple wire.
The modern design of a rigid monolithic structure without
tilting parts, eliminates micro vibrations from the process.
Two, three or four pairs of oversized
shafts support the drawing cones,
which are all positioned on a straight
line for a better wire path and easy
control of die alignment. Each cone
consists of two to eight scaled steel
rings with mirror polished tungsten
carbide facing. The final pulling
capstan is divided from the wet
section of the machine by a vertical
steel wall and has internal
water-cooling.
The machines are provided with a
threading capstan connected with
the first cone.
The torque transmission between
the shafts is obtained by means
of low-noise timing belts with
herringbone toothing for efficiency
and simplicity of maintenance. The
basement contains a built-in storage
tank for the cooling lubricant with
rear access for inside cleaning and
maintenance.
Lubricant is re-circulated using an
electric pump and over-flow and an
optional heat exchanger for lubricant
cooling is available in case of
stand-alone operation.
The shaft sealing system has triple
protection against accidental intru-
sion of the emulsion into the bearings
obtained through a patented no-
contact pressurised sealing plus a
centrifugation chamber and a grease
chamber. The finishing die with ball
joint support is adjustable in all
directions.
The electric equipment is contained
in a separate steel cabinet or a
top-mounted cabinet. Both types
have IP54 protection with a heat
exchanger or air-conditioned internal
cooling.
