To the user, a sharp bend in thick wire is very like
a sharp bend in thin wire – but not to the operator
who put that bend there. Any tight-radius bend
may look very similar to every other, regardless of
material. It is not. A length of 6-gauge wire may
seem to have required about the same bending
force as a length of 8-gauge. If that guess had
been acted on, a production run of excellent wire
was very likely consigned to the scrap heap.
