Trumpf Inc, USA, has acquired 100 per cent
of Advanced Fabricating Machinery (AFM),
Canada. AFM was formed on July 1 1997
by Trumpf Inc and Mr Robert Watson as an
equal joint venture.
Trumpf’s completion of the acquisition
of AFM adds to the company’s leading
status in the field of fabricating and laser
technology in North America.
“Ten years ago, Trumpf Inc entered into
a venture with Advanced Fabricating
Machinery that has since turned into a
very successful relationship,”
said Mr Rolf
Biekert, president and CEO of Trumpf Inc.
“On behalf of Trumpf, I am proud of what
we accomplished and just as excited about
Trumpf’s future in Canada.”
AFM’s mission has been to establish long-
term relationships with its customers by
selling high-quality, flexible fabricating
equipment that helps to maximize profits.
AFM, under the continued leadership of
Mr Robert Watson, will serve the Canadian
market as a sales and spare parts facility
for Trumpf products.
Trumpf is a high-tech group focusing on
production and medical technology. The
company is also the world market leader
in lasers used for industrial production
technology.

IHWT Banyard, UK, has been awarded two
major Chinese contracts from Baosteel and
Tisco for supply of their latest generation
of Vertical Steel Induction (VSI) billet
heating systems for production of seamless
stainless steel tubing.
These VSI systems are turnkey installations
with a total of 15 separate 850kW induction
heat stations. Each stage is capable
of operation from 50Hz to 150Hz and
is equipped with software control that
guarantees billet temperature accuracy,
homogeneity and repeatability of the billet
heating process.
In recent years IHWT Banyard has also
designed and manufactured turnkey
mechanical handling systems to support its
well proven VSI technology.
Now, as part of a larger, newly formed
company, Inductotherm Heating & Welding
Technologies Ltd, customers can benefit
from greater systems capability and
applications knowledge throughout the
expanded group.

Roll-Kraft Ltd has announced the relocation of its Canadian facility to new premises
located in Woodbridge, Ontario. The new, more modern facility is around twice the size
of the company’s original location in Brampton.
The increased factory space will
allow for the more efficient flow of
manufacturing, crane operation,
and loading and receiving. This
move will position Roll-Kraft for
further growth in 2008.
Roll-Kraft manufactures tooling
for the rollforming and tube and
pipe industries. Since opening in
2004, Roll-Kraft Ltd has become
a local, convenient source to the
Canadian market.
Roll-Kraft is expected to continue
adding services and personnel to
support and accommodate the
demand.
