Accounts for 1984
The Director General, Mr. J.J. Ivers, reported that the
draft accounts had been received from the Auditors and
showed a slight surplus. The formal accounts will be
presented and discussed at the Annual General Meeting.
The Annual General Meeting for 1985 will be held at
6.30 p.m. on Thursday, 14th November, 1985 in Blackhall
Place.
The President welcomed the following distinguished
visitors to the Conference:— The President of the
Canadian Bar Association and Mrs. Claude Thomson,
the President of the Law Society of England & Wales and
Mrs. Arthur Hoole, the President of the Law Society of
Scotland and Mrs. Ronald Graham, the immediate past-
President of the Northern Ireland Law Society and Mrs.
Henry Coll, the Secretary-General of the Law Society of
England & Wales and Mrs. John Bowran, the Secretary of
the Law Society of Northern Ireland and Mrs. Sydney
Lomas, Mr. & Mrs. David Tench and Mr. & Mrs. Tony
Behan.
On the invitation of the President, Mr. Claude
Thomson, President of the Canadian Bar Association,
addressed the meeting briefly on Canadian experiences in
the legal profession.
The President thanked Mr. Thomson and formally
declared the meeting closed.
