Growing demand for stainless steel solutions
Wolseley provides a wide range of

Plascut Stainless, Pipe Center’s
specialist stainless steel plasma cutting
facility, has reported growing demand
from fabricators keen to harness the
anti-corrosion properties and aesthetics
of stainless steel.
“It’s a trend we have been noticing for
some time,” commented Bob Elliott,
who heads Wolseley’s high-tech facility
in Sheffield, UK. “Stainless steel, due to
its permanence and chemical stability,
has a growing range of applications in
industrial process work and buildings.
It is the material of choice for harsh or
corrosive environments, and in food
processing where hygiene is top of
the agenda. With the new emphasis
on reliability and quality engineering, it
seems it’s a material whose time has
come.”
Plascut Stainless is one of the UK’s
most experienced plasma-arc profilers.
Its computer-controlled plasma cutter
can accommodate stainless steel plates
up to 75mm thick and weighing up to
five tonnes. It also operates one of the
