Founded in 1954, fusion equipment
expert McElroy Manufacturing has
grown from a two-person start-up in
an Oklahoma garage, to a leader in the
science of joining thermoplastic pipe.
The company produces efficient,
rugged and technically advanced fusion
equipment, for which it holds dozens of
US and foreign patents.

New heat-treatment furnaces for
steel tube producer
Jiangsu Huacheng Industry Group Co, Ltd is a private company specialising in
the production of seamless/welded steel tubes.
The company’s main products include cold-drawn/cold-roll seamless carbon/
alloy steel tubes, high frequency welded carbon/alloy steel tubes, cold-drawn
welded steel tubes and cold-drawn special shape seamless tubes, for use
in power stations, chemical plants, petroleum cracking, ship building, auto
components and relative fields. The size range for seamless steel tubes is OD 6
to 114.3mm x WT 1 to 15mm, to a maximum length of 21m. The annual output
of steel tubes is approximately 10,000 tonnes, of which 60% is exported to
around 30 countries. The company owns full sets of equipment, from cutting
billets to final packing.
This year, two new heat-treatment furnaces began production. One of the
furnaces, produced by LOI Germany, is atmosphere-controlled and heated
by natural gas. All the heat-treatment process are controlled and recorded
by computer. The furnace was designed to produce high quality carbon/alloy
seamless steel tubes, in particular for medium/high alloy tubes using materials
T2, T5, T11, T12, T22, T91, and T92.
The company is certified by ISO, DNV (PED 97/23/EC), BV, CCS and API, and
will soon be certified by GL, LR, and ABS.

With a complete range of fusion
equipment, including PitBulls, TracStars
and the original wheeled units, McElroy
has a polyethylene pipe fusion machine
for every pipe size from ½" CTS to
1,600mm. Specialised equipment, such
as McElroy’s SideWinder, HotTap and
Socket Tooling, are designed to handle
unique applications important to some
job sites.
McElroy also produces an array of
productivity enhancing equipment,
such as the PolyHorse, PolyPorter
and LineTamer. The company has
an extensive worldwide distribution
network, and can provide on-site
training.

Kirkby Steel Tubes carries a full range
of mild steel ERW and seamless tubes,
as well as stainless steel tubes and
aluminium tubes.
The company has reported recent
success in the office furniture business,
selling a complete range of mild steel
box sections. The company’s cut-to-
length service offers material that is
cut and deburred, and washed by a
new, state-of-the-art RSA machine.
