Manitowoc recently organised a luncheon
with its Peruvian dealer and service centre
SSK to discuss upcoming opportunities
and trends that are shaping the crane
and lifting industry in the country.
Approximately 45 companies were
represented at the occasion, held in Lima.
Gerardo Castillo, Manitowoc’s regional
business manager for Peru and Argentina,
says the gathering gave crane professionals
a chance to connect and share experiences
amid regional and worldwide economic
uncertainty. “We hope the conversations
will turn into expanded opportunities for
all the people involved in Peru’s crane
industry,” he says.
Terex Trucks has appointed Hitrac as its dealer in Manitoba, Canada. Hitrac will
supply and support Terex Trucks’ full range of articulated dump trucks (ADTs)
throughout the territory. “The timing is also good for Terex Trucks, as Manitoba
has been a solid market for both 30 and 40 t ADTs over the past five years and
all indicators continue to show signs of steady growth in the area. We’re looking
forward to developing new customers in the province and providing Terex Trucks’
hauling solutions for Hitrac and its customers,” says Matt Deloglos, director of
sales and marketing Americas at Terex Trucks.

Manitou Group has inaugurated its new Brazilian subsidiary in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo.
The company says the new venture confirms its international ambitions, desire to
develop new markets and strengthen its local presence in the region.
Manitou has sold its products in Brazil since 2008, working with dealers and a regional
office in the country, directly managed from France. In 2014, the company initiated a
deep analysis of the Brazilian market, and started the commercialisation of the Gehl and
Mustang brands in the country. Since then, the group has identified the opportunity to
invest in Brazil and began its expansion project with the construction of the factory in
Vinhedo.
“We want to have a sustainable presence in Brazil. Despite the current market difficul-
ties, we are confident for the future. It will take time, but our group will be present when
the market returns to its usual best,” says Michel Denis, president & CEO Manitou.
The Brazil factory is Manitou’s first production line outside of Europe and the United
States. The choice of Vinhedo as the site for the factory took into account the ease of
access to the airports of Viracopos, in Campinas, and Guarulhos and the Port of Santos.

After 10 years of Indian presence, MAN Truck
& Bus reports significantly higher unit sales,
increased market shares and a marked increase
in revenue compared with the previous six
months. Furthermore, substantial investments
in the development of the CLA series is tipped
to continue to increase its market presence in
the future.
It has been a decade since MAN entered into
a joint venture in India, thus laying the ground-
work for further expansion into non-European
markets. Shortly afterwards, the first MAN
CLA came off the production line at the newly
established production facility in Pithampur, In-
dia. About half of the vehicles are intended for
the domestic market, while the other half are
divided between 40 different export markets
across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
The product range of the modern CLA series
comprises semitrailer tractors with various
axle variations and chassis with or without
bodywork. In the first five years of the joint
venture, the development and localisation of
the extensive MAN CLA portfolio took centre
stage, together with the establishment of a
nationwide sales network. As a logical con-
sequence of this increasing commitment MAN
Truck & Bus assumed the remaining shares in
the cooperation in 2012 and founded the cur-
rent MAN Trucks INDIA.
