The figures show Landsat satellite
images taken in 1985, 1995 and 2002.
All three images were taken in February
of the respective years. Active fires with
fire fronts are visible in the rift valley
area and close to the escarpment.
Fire scars are evident between main
Budongo and Kaniyo Pabidi forested
areas in 1985, but in 2002 there is less
fire and more regrowth between the
two forested areas. The regrowth is
also evidenced in the photographic
comparison shown on the opposite page.
