Katuugo Forest Reserve
NEMA 2008
in protected areas has been lost since 1990 (NEMA, 2008).
Katuugo, Mafuga and Mwenge Forest reserves are fplanted on gazetted
land to supply cheap softwoods for the country’s growing domestic wood
demand. Mafuga in Kabale District covers an area of 3,699 ha and was
gazetted in 1946.
