But Prior Use is supposed to be based on

‘performance in similar operating profiles and physical environments’

The volume of operating experience

Difficult to understand how the manufacturer/ certification body can take into
account individual site / operating environment
Difficulties with Manufacturers and Prior Use

Most important factor is ‘similar operating profile and
physical environment
§
If the end user finds the instrument is not working due to
process related issues they just: -
§
Clean it, lubricate it, calibrate it, reposition it…
§
They don’t report it or send it back
