Board members shall continue to serve until their successors are appointed.

Attendance

Board of Adjustment members are responsible for attending all regular board meetings as set forth

by the Town Council, and may be replaced in accordance with the current public body attendance

policy.

Staff

The Planning Director shall serve as the professional staff for the Board of Adjustment and as the board’s

Secretary, providing it administrative support, notifying members of board meetings, and keeping the

minutes of meetings.

Officers

The Board of Adjustment shall recommend one of its members to serve as its Chair and another as

its Vice-Chair. The Town Council shall consider those recommendations and appoint the board’s

Chair and Vice-Chair, each to serve a one-year term. Members may be appointed to successive

terms without limitation.

The Chair shall preside over all board meetings. The Vice-Chair shall preside over board meetings

in the absence of the Chair. If both the Chair and Vice-Chair are absent, the board shall vote to

determine who shall serve as acting Chair for the meeting.

Meetings

Meeting Schedule

The Board of Adjustment shall establish a schedule of regular meetings—including the date, time,

and location of meetings—and keep a copy of the schedule on file with the Town Clerk. In

accordance with state law, the Chair may cancel a regular meeting on determining that there are

no agenda items for consideration, or call a special or emergency meeting.

Meeting Notice

Notice of all Board of Adjustment meetings shall be provided in accordance with state law and the

public meeting requirements in Section

2.4.5.B, Public Notice.

Open Meetings

All Board of Adjustment meetings shall be open to the public in accordance with state law.

Meeting Procedure

In conducting its meetings, the Board of Adjustment shall follow rules of procedure adopted in

accordance with Section

2.2.2.I, Rules of Procedure,

consistent with the procedural requirements of

this Ordinance and state law.

Meeting Record

The Board of Adjustment shall keep full and accurate minutes of its meetings in accordance with

state law, including its findings and decisions and the votes thereon. Meeting minutes shall be a

public record in accordance with state law.

G.

Quorum and Vote

Quorum

Four members of the Board of Adjustment shall constitute a quorum. No official business of the

board shall be conducted without a quorum present.
