In it's vibrant twelfth year at USD, the

Accounting Society is a student organization

which promotes interaction of accounting

students in academic, community, and

professioal endeavors. Besides operating a

tutoring lab for all students of accounting,

the Accounting Society sponsors a varietyof

speakers throughout the year and conducts

tours of local and international C.P.A. firms.

The Accounting Society also hosts a diversi

ty of social activities involving faculty, alum

ni, and leaders in the business community,

including the celebrated Annual Spring Ban

quet. At the banquet the society honors those

seniors completing the C.P.A. exam only

hours before and awards scholarships it

raises through donations. Under the exper

ience and care of Mrs. Ethel Sykes, the Ac

counting Society is greatly supported by stu

dents, faculty,and professionals,and acts as

a tool facilitating exposure to Accountancy.

A co-educational business fraternity, Al

pha Kappa Psi is concerned with providing

business majors with information about the

specific opportunities available to them.

Considering the large percentage of USD stu

dents enrolled in the business program, Al

pha Kappa Psi plays an important role as

intermediary between these students and the

business community they aspire to join. The

information file the club keeps on San Diego

businesses is especially beneficial.
