RECIPE

Peel a lemon and cut it into slices. Put it int o

a bowl and pour over it three and a h :df p int s

of strong home-brewed ale and a bottl e of

mountain wine.

Grate a nutmeg into it, sweeten it, stir it, and

then add three or four slices of bread t oasted

brown.

Let it stand two hours before stra ining into

the Grace Cup.

Lamb's fVool

This is a variety of the Wassail Bowl, a favourite

punch in different parts of England.

Mix the pulp of six roasted appl es with some

raw sugar, a grated nutmeg, and a small qu antity

of ginger.

. Add a quart of strong ale, made hot, stir, :rnd

if sweet enough, serve.

It sometimes has sweet cakes floating in it.
