The

nutmegs

and

bitter

almonds

must

be

bruised,

and

the

ambergris

rubbed

with

the

Lisbon

sugar

in

a

marble

mortar,

before

they

are

infused

in

the

spirit.

Take

one-half

dram

of

angelica

seed,

two

ounces

stalks

of

angelica,

two

ounces

bitter

almonds,

blanched,

six

pints

proof

spirit,

one

pound

white

sugar.

Digest,

strain,

and

fil-

ter.
