demands for performance and ease of
processing, including Sabic, Dow, Basell
and Total.
Pipe producers with expertise in durability
and applications in the Middle East will
give a range of papers on the latest pipe
design and key application areas, including
Amiantit, Misr El Hegaz, Georg Fischer,
Agru Kunststoffttechnik, Subor Boru,
Uponor, Farassan, Krah and ZamZam
Plastic Industries.
The latest in quality control and production
will be described by KraussMaffei,
Cincinnati Extrusion and SKZ.
There will also be an overview of the
regional testing procedures as compared
to international standards, and applied
research in the region.
Middle East Plastic Pipes 2008 provides a
unique platform to discuss the application of

www.amiplastics.comCentravis, Ukraine, launched a new streamline
in January 2008 in order to advance the cold-
drawing shop No 2 at its tube mill. Installation
of a new streamline in the cold-drawing
shop is a part of the company’s long-term
development programme that involves
both technical upgrade and service level
improvement phases.
The streamline consists of a set of
manufacturing units for consequent
production of high-quality tubes. This project
has been estimated at US$15 million. The
total investment in the manufacturing facility
development programme will reach US$115
million by the end of 2008.
The new line product range comprises
austenitic steel tubes from 10-60mm OD
and a wall thickness of 1-4mm, with a
maximum product length of 26m. Working
non-stop, the streamlined mill will be able
to produce up to 8,000t of tube annually.
Preference will be given to the production
of heat exchanger tubing for nuclear power
engineering, as this tubing has special
quality requirements.
A new streamline processing technology
being introduced and the new equipment
will ensure performance growth (by more
than double), improvement of tube quality
and a decrease of unit metal consumption.
It will enable pickling operations to be
skipped and dramatically reduce transport
time and costs.
The streamline involves methods of liquid
lubricant cold-drawing of tubes, water
detergent solution cleaning, bright annealing
and conveyance. The up-to-date line
equipment consists of cold-drawing mills, a
hydrogen annealing furnace, a 10 skew roll
reeler, a 12 section grinding and polishing
unit, nondestructive tube testing units, and
a non-abrasive tube cutting machine.
Mr Vitaliy Lyutyk, CEO of CJSC Centravis
Production Ukraine, states:
“At present all
the equipment has been fully installed, and
adjustment of the integrated complex is
taking place.”
