requirements and companies interested
in applications ranging from experimental
prototype bends up to full batch production.
Marketed as the UNI range, these electric
machines cover all bending requirements
from 6mm OD up to 90mm OD or 3" NB.
They offer between 2D to 5D centre line
radii. The series consists of the 42D,
60D, 70D, 76, 80 and 90 units. Some
machines can be fitted with mandrel
bending equipment together with optional
accessories for bending thin-walled tube to
a tighter centre line radius.
Recently, Tubela was appointed as sole UK
distributor for the rugged and easily operated
Model 3 tube and pipe bender, designed for

cutting requirements
Dutch company Bewo offers robust, fast
and reliable cutting machines. Design,
engineering, production and fitting of the
machines are all carried out at the company’s
works in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
Sub-suppliers of fixed length tubes are
increasingly being put under price-pressure,
and being confronted with ‘just in time’ and
‘zero defects’ delivery requirements. This
means smaller batches, stricter tolerances,
cleanliness and packaging of tubes. To meet
these requirements, more reliability, higher
output, faster changeovers, tighter tolerances
and well packed tubes are necessary for
a sub-supplier to stay competitive on the
supply of fixed lengths in today’s market.
Bewo has developed a new production cell
with features including a complete change
over within 5 minutes, a state-of-the-art,
centralised operator-control system, and
direct linkage without using conveyor
belts. It also comes with a new Bewo inline
measuring system (equipped with cameras),
a new high-output tub
e washing machine (equipped with a
walking beam transportation system in its
drying zone), and the SCP-90 tube stacking
system. These features offer an optimal
combination of output and flexibility.
Bewo’s ultimate production tube cutting
cell contains SCF-90 Quatro tubesaw, DB
90 brush deburrer, SCC 90 inline camera
measuring system, and SCP-90 tube
stacking system. The company’s newest,
most flexible single-line tube cutting
machine is the Bewo SCF-90 Single.
