Soak the very thin peel of 12 lemons

in I qt. of rum for 2 days. In a sep

arate container mix together the juice

of the whole lemons, 2 qts. of water,

and 2 qts. of boiling milk. Then pour

into this mixture the rum and lemon

peel, and stir. Next add 1/4 qts. of

rum and i powdered nutmeg. After i

day stir in 3 lbs. of fine sugar, strain

through cloth, and bottle.

Into a shaker put I pony of fresh cream,

the white of an egg, 2 teaspoonfuls of

fine sugar, juice of lemon, and fill

with cracked ice. Then add i jigger of

gin. Shake vigorously, pour into a fizz

glass, and fill with seltzer.

Into a shaker put the yolk of i egg, add

I tablespoonful each of anisette and

Curasao, fill with ice, and then add i

pony of brandy. Shake well, strain,

and serve in an old style cocktail glass.
