Chemical pumps

Savino Barbera, Italy, manufactures chemical pumps for

industrial applications, production lines and ecological

facilities where resistance to chemical aggression must be

coupled with reliability and easy maintenance.

These types of pump (vertical pumps, in this case) are

suitable for metal treatment processes, in particular for wire

treatment machines and similar installations. Their particular

construction eliminates the possibility of any contact

between metal parts and the liquids, while the selection

of materials and manufacturing technologies ensures

compatibility with the products handled, a long operating life

and conformity with the standards in force.

The adoption of pumps with these characteristics eliminates,

even in case of breaks, hazardous leaks and the need for

openings on the bottom of the basins or tanks, allowing the

safe pumping of chemical substances. Savino Barbera’s AS

series of single-stage, vertical centrifugal pumps are suitable

for transfer, recycling and distributing corrosive liquids.

The pumps are recommended for installation in cisterns,

tanks or wells with variable head. The manufacturing

technologies, the materials employed and the hydraulic

design adopted permit the vertical AS pumps to satisfy

plant specifications for chemical products. Hydraulics are

optimised using open, closed and recessed impellers, and

impellers with different speeds of rotation in accordance

with the constraints imposed by the plants, the nature of the

liquids or the working processes.

A continuous

roller/batch annealing furnace

Transportable electric furnace

with forced air circulation

I LE S Srl, Italy, has launched a new furnace for stabilisation

in the continuous production of micro-springs up to 0.6mm

in diameter. The furnace is designed to be linked directly to

winding, coiling and bending machines, in order to reduce

working time. Heat treatment takes place at the same

conditions of temperature and stay time for all springs.

The parts move forward continuously, without collisions or

vibrations, resulting in a steady, reliable production, while the

springs are able to rotate freely. The 70mm wide conveyor

belt has a useful length of 500mm, and has been designed

to avoid entanglement of the springs.
