Tecnosider, Italy, has operated for
many years in the steel wire drawing
industry, and the company’s extensive
knowledge of the market allows it to
take an advisory role in the production
world, finding practical solutions based
on actual experience.
The company designs and constructs
auxiliary machinery and devices,
including Dekofil mechanical descalers,
Galvatek galvanising devices, KR-KD
wire straighteners, TE-TS-TV pulling-in
dogs, and Dekofil 2000 equipment for
fast and effective wire cleaning.

www.tktgroup.it2007 will prove to be a very challenging
year for all manufacturers of lubricants,
coatings and carriers for the wire
drawing industry.
The implementation of new European
regulations for the registration, evalu-
ation and authorisation of chemicals,
and increases in the price of palm oil
and beef tallow – the main raw
materials of wire lubricant products –
will ensure the need for a supplier of
quality and care to confront these
and other challenges on the horizon.
With 125 years’ experience in wire
drawing lubricants, and as a global
supplier of dry drawing lubricants,
coatings and carriers serving the wire
industry, Traxit International is best
placed to meet these challenges head
on. Extensive new research and
development laboratories, the latest
production
techniques
and
experienced,
dedicated
and
professional staff means Traxit are able
to offer Boron free coatings and
lubricants of the highest quality.

www.troester.deUhing has extended its range of
economically priced rolling ring drives
with plastic housing by introducing the
RGK3-15 model, suitable for 15mm
shafts. While featuring an exterior
design similar to that of the larger RGK
20, major innovation has taken place
inside: by modifying the flow of forces
into the housing, the thrust (90N) could
be raised to almost that of the metallic
complement RG3-15-2 (110N). Uhing
reports that the RGK15 passed all
endurance tests with flying colours and
confirmed the quality of the high-tech
plastic with 60% glass fraction.
Also on display will be the RGK3-20
rolling ring drive, and Uhing’s non-
contact FA flange detecting system
controlled by sensors, allowing the
correction of reversal points after coil
change to be automated. The Easylock
fast-action clamping system facilitates
and speeds up the coil change, and is
used on plain shafts, like the simpler
U-Clip clamping element.
With the GS guide system Uhing also
shows a material guide that universally
adapts to the winding task. It is
completed with a choice of ball bearing
guide rollers with ceramic wearing
protection.

www.uhing.comThe upward continuous casting
method – better known as the Upcast
®
system – was originally innovated and
developed by Outokumpu in the late
60s for the production of oxygen-free
(OF) copper and copper alloys wire
rod. Since the startup of the first
production unit in 1971 more than
160 other Upcast
®
units have been
delivered worldwide, establishing
itself as the leading method in its line
of production.
Today the Upcast
®
legacy is carried
on under the banner of Upcast OY,
exhibiting its full range of single and
double-furnace casting lines.
Several interesting new developments
have been introduced to the Upcast
®
system. Among these are:
maximum output from a single-
furnace system increased from
7,500tpa to 12,000tpa capacity
maximum output from a double-
furnace system increased from
30,000tpa to 40,000tpa capacity
a new Omega-type inductor
doubling the previously available
power range, combined with a
marked decrease in specific power
consumption
