Tecnovo Srl, Italy, produces a wide
range of lubricants. The company’s
products for dry drawing of wires to be
annealed or galvanised are designed
to provide adequate lubrication to the
wire, to dissolve easily in acid pickling
solutions, and to contain no com-
pounds that might cause oxidation in
annealing furnaces.
The new calcium-based lubricants
Tecnolubre® FM/102P and Tecnolubre
FM/180X are able to function at high
drawing speeds and guarantee long
die life. They contain no additives that
might cause the wire surface to colour
during annealing or carbon residues to
accumulate in the annealing furnaces.
A slight residue of ash remains on the
surface of the wire after annealing,
which dissolves easily in acid pickling
solutions.
Features of Tecnovo’s lubricants for
wet drawing and skin-pass or ferrous
or coppered wires include excellent
lubrication with low lubricant
consumption, cleaning properties, wire
runs freely during coiling and
subsequent uncoiling of the wire,
antioxidant properties for iron and
copper, and low foam generating
power. The new emulsifiable lubricants
Sintek® FL/22 – FL/29 for wet wire
drawing also function at high drawing
speeds and guarantee long die life,
even when used at low concentrations.
They rapidly remove the film of
lubricant present on the surface of the
wire resulting from the previous dry
wire draft to produce final wire with a
bright, shiny surface.
The lubricants are completely
biodegradable, and their special
formulation allows them to function on
the latest and most up-to-date drawing
machines with no strong generation
of foam.
The company’s emulsifiable lubricant
Airprotector® TS5 for skin-pass of
ferrous and coppered wires forms an
extremely light film of wax with strong
antioxidant properties. This film allows
the wire to run freely when coiling and
subsequently uncoiling the wire. The
maximum formation of ash during the
combustion stage makes it suitable for
the production of high quality coppered
or copper free (CO2) welding wire.
The product contains no alkaline salts
and is not an irritant for skin. It is also
completely biodegradable, and has
been developed without using
substances such as heavy metals,
nitrites, borates, sulphides, chlorides
or mineral oils.
