Principle

The 3M

Molecular Detection Assay (MDA) 2 -

Listeria monocytogenes

method is used with

18

the 3M

Molecular Detection System (MDS) for the rapid and specific detection of

Listeria

19

monocytogenes

in enriched food and food process environmental samples. The 3M MDA2 -

20

Listeria monocytogenes

uses loop-mediated isothermal amplification of unique DNA target

21

sequences with high specificity and sensitivity, combined with bioluminescence to detect the

22

amplification. Presumptive positive results are reported in real-time while negative results are

23

displayed after the assay is completed. Samples arepre-enriched in Demi Fraser with ferric

24

ammonium citrate broth.
