A. Requests for Leave Without Pay must be submitted in writing by the employee through the
departmental chain of command to the Department Director.
B. If the Department Director recommends the Leave Without Pay, he will submit the request
to the Human Resources Benefits Consultant for review and approval by the Human Resources
Director.
C. The Human Resources Director will review the Department Director’s and the Human
Resources Benefit Consultant’s recommendation and will consult with the City Manager’s
Office if necessary to approve or deny the request.
D. The Human Resources Benefits Consultant will notify the Department Director and the
department’s HR payroll representative of the decision.
