convergence between Spain and France. ‡ Regarding competition, with the MidCat project France will improve the possibility to take benefit

from a cheaper LNG price or Algerian gas. ‡ At European level, the MidCat project can be considered as a way to reduce the dependency from

Russian gas and therefore to improve the overall security of supply, as it reinforce the direct link between North Africa and Europe. ‡ This

project improves the CO2 emissions in several cases by making the gas cheaper than coal and replacing coal in specific zones.
