Insurance Age’s Broker Apprentice series
This is a brand new category for the 2017
Headlinemoney awards. Replacing previous
website of the year and best use of social media
categories, this award has been introduced to
allow B2B and consumer financial media outlets
to showcase initiatives which extend beyond their
usual week-in, week-out print or online offerings.
The preliminary scores in this category suggested
that the judges found it hard to split four of the
five names on the shortlist. But when they met
up to discuss each contender’s merits, it didn’t
take long for the name of
Insurance Age’s Broker
Apprentice series
to emerge triumphant. The
thinking behind the idea is based on the BBC
series of the same name. Filmed tackling a series
of tasks over a number of weeks, six ambitious
candidates compete in a bid to be crowned as
the best new talent within the insurance broker
market.
“I really like this concept. It’s an initiative from
the trade press side of the financial services media
which shows real creativity,” one judge remarked.
“It’s a really good way to engage a professional
audience,” another judge commented. “Can I just
point out that the filming is really well executed.
Either an individual or a team of people have gone
to great lengths to make this all work and for that
they should feel really proud of themselves,’ a third
panellist suggested.
