quarts
of water
and
boil six
hours.
Strain
and
add
4
quarts
of
water and

tablespoonfuls
of ground
ginger.
Boil
3
hours more
and
strain.
Brown
a
loaf of
bread to
very
dark
color

crush

fine
by pounding
and add this to
