From the new fibre laser generation –
with smaller, wall-mountable housing
and improved fibre handling – Rofin
will show the FL 020 with 2kW output
power. The FL series, with lasers up
to 6kW, is characterised by its beam
quality and efficiency.
With fibre lasers, small tubes of 0.07-
1mm wall thickness can be welded.
Various materials, including composite
tubes or tubes of high reflective
materials such as aluminium or titanium,
can be welded with fibre lasers.
As well as providing laser equipment,
Rofin develops new processes together
with its customers, such as the welding
of deep-water tubes made of highly
corrosion-resistant Duplex material or
the welding of filler wires.

For online quality control during hose
and tube extrusion, Sikora offers the
X-Ray 6000 measuring device and the
high-end series X-Ray 6000 Pro.
The X-Ray 6000 is particularly
interesting for production lines for
products with single layer, with total
wall thickness having to be measured.
It is a powerful measuring device for the
continuous measurement of the inner
and outer diameter, wall thickness and
eccentricity. In addition to products
made of PE, HDPE, PVC and EPR,
foamed tubes and hoses made of
EDPM, nylon, rubber and silicon can
be measured reliably.
The X-Ray 6000 Pro is available for
multi-layer products such as composite
tubes, automotive, hydraulic and
compressed-air hoses.
The X-Ray 6000 measuring device
Measurements are taken continuously
online at the extrusion process. X-ray
technology requires no calibration, is not
influenced by the type and temperature
of the extruded material, and does not
need a coupling media such as water.
Measuring values are taken within
fractions of a second and are displayed
either at a monitor directly integrated in
the gauge head or on a separate 22"
flat panel vertical monitor. In addition
to the numerical and graphical display
of the measuring values, the system
provides trend and statistical data. The
optimum benefit in regards to increased
productivity is achieved if the X-Ray
6000 system is used for automatic wall
thickness control by adapting either
the line speed or the extruder rpm. The
operation of the equipment is user-
friendly via touch screen.
The X-Ray 6000 is available for products
with a diameter of 5 to 100mm; the
X-Ray 6000 Pro accommodates
diameters from 0.65 to 300mm. Higher
measuring ranges of up to 650mm are
available on request.
