GIN RICKEY
Squeeze one-half lime into a tall glass and
drop in the rind. Add one wine glass of gin,
stir thoroughly, fill the glass with seltzer water ·
and drop in one lump of ice.
MINT JULEP
Dissolve one teaspoon of sugar in a little
water in the bottom of a tall glass. Add a few
sprigs of fresh mint and stir so as to crush the
leaves slightly. Remove the mint. Add one
and a half ponies of brandy, or whiskey, and
fill the glass with shaved ice. Stir until cold
and put a sprig of mint on top. You may drink
this through a straw or bury your nose in the
foliage.
