of Mount Airy uses the Dr. Robert Smith House as their
base of operations, with art classes for disabled adults as

Edwards-Franklin House
Located near Lowgap, is maintained by the Surry
County Historical Society. It is open to the public from

home of the Sonker Festival that is held annually on the

Gertrude-Smith House
The historic home was built in 1903 by the Jefferson
Davis Smith Family and is on the National Register of
Historic Homes.The home remains decorated as it was
in the past, full of art, antiques, and collections from all
over the world.The house serves as a living museum,
reflective of the early 1900s lifestyle.The home is open
from May through December each year for free tours
and is decorated for Christmas each year. Everything in
