LINKING PEOPLE, JOINING NATIONS
Members of the review panel are listed in Appendix 2. Norman Eaton, Damian
Kotecki and Glenn Ziegenfuss, as well as several members of the IIW Board of Directors,
have also reviewed the text and provided valuable comment on its structure and content.
The author has made every effort to include key issues and all the many people
involved during the period; however we do ask to be excused any omission or oversight
that may have inadvertently occurred. At the end of each Chapter there is a list of endnotes
referencing the sources of information used, many of which are confidential and not
available for access but help validate the text.
It would be remiss, at this juncture, not to emphasise the contribution
of the author, David Barnett who with patience, engagement in the process
and willingness to make himself available for discussion at all times, has
taken a disparate wealth of information and moulded it into a highly readable
and informative book.
Thanks should also be extended to Anne Rorke for her excellent editing skills, and
to Chris Burns who has provided help and advice in the publishing phase to enhance the
presentation of this book.
In conclusion, I would like to express a personal word of thanks to all the many
wonderful people who have been involved in IIW in improving the global quality of life
through the optimum use of welding.
