4.2 Health and Safety Executive Statistics (Personal Injuries)

The UK offshore oil and gas industry is a major hazard industry. However, in comparison with other UK industry

sectors, the offshore oil and gas industry has a lower personal injury rate and performs better. Figures 7, 8 and 9

are based on data provided by HSE, which are drawn from RIDDOR reports. The data are therefore considered to

be reliable and verifiable.
