Focusing specifically on the offshore oil and gas sector, the figures below reveal that the non-fatal and combined

fatal and specified injury rate improved last year (RIDDOR 2013 now requires industry to report specified injuries

rather than the previous list of major injuries). Disappointingly, the over-seven-day injury rate has increased from

2013. Changes in statutory reporting requirements in 2013 may have contributed to these results, however, it is

too early to be definitive.
