Inside scarfing systems
ALPHA Metall, a manufacturer of tube
inside scarfing systems for the ID range
10 to 620mm, is continuously developing,
innovating and improving the design
and manufacture of its scarfing systems
for the international market, and has
experience in this sector dating back to
1982.
From API, oil, gas and structural to
automotive and general engineering
applications, the company can supply
tube ID scarfing technology to meet the
production and customers’ requirements.
All Alpha Metall tube ID scarfing systems
can be integrated in older tube mills
or in new tube mill designs. All of the
equipment is designed and built in
Germany.
Mechanical and hydraulically operated
tube ID scarfing systems can be equipped
with through-flow or return-flow impeder
technology, notching function as ID bead
chopper feature for tube ID 10 to 620mm,
as well as hydraulic ID bead chopper for
tube ID 230 to 600mm. Tube outside
weld bead is removed with indexable
inserts and optional hydraulic outside
bead chopper for all tube diameters. Strip
preparation avoids welding faults, with a
strip edge shaving machine for cleaning
strip edges on aluminised/galvanised
strips. Tube cut-off is via customised
high-precision jaws.
Alpha Metall provides an approved
range of premium ferrite cores, cutting
rings, indexable OD scarfing inserts,
tube cut-off blades, tube cut-off circular
saws, and customised impeders for use
without scarfing mandrel.
